In Chinese grammar, what follows after ”被” often has negative connotations or feelings, and the subject person or thing before “被” is the receiver of this negative action.
E.g 小偷被警察逮捕了、我的请求被老板拒绝了、新买的衣服被小狗弄脏了…
Use “被” with extreme care.
